First day of School

Our baby is all grown up! He started his first real day of class on Tuesday. The last week has been orientation. For his work load, Joe will have a lot of readings every week, a few papers throughout the term, and one big paper due at the beginning of next term. No tests. And his classes comprise of lectures and a lot of class discussions. It's very interactive.

First day of school picture - I forced him to take this.

On Monday night, we went to church for a ward FHE and watched "Meet the Mormons". This was our first time actually meeting the ward, and we're pretty excited! Everyone is so nice and friendly. And we were told multiple times that there were a ton of couples that moved into the ward this year, something like 15-20 couples!! In August, they had one baby in nursery, and last sunday they had eight.  I think we're going to find some good friends here.

Joe with our friend Jonathan (from Provo) at the ward activity. They went to study at the Bodleian Library together today and showed up wearing matching outfits... Both graduated from BYU, now living at Oxford - Life Goals.

On Wednesdays, I go to The Newcomers' Club in the morning for a few hours, which actually is a nice opportunity for me to meet people. At the meeting this morning, they were giving a presentation about finding jobs - there were a ton of people there. It's nice knowing I'm not the only one that doesn't have a job yet... We split off into groups to get to know each other, and almost every gal there had at least a master's degree! I am constantly in awe at how many brilliant people are here in Oxford. Everyone is ridiculously smart and they all love to have smart discussions.
